This cache is hidden in a place that means the world to our grandson Ashton.—Swasey Park. Nestled along the shores of Lake Waukewan, this beautiful wooded spot has been the setting for countless childhood adventures and treasured family moments.
Ashton has spent hours here: climbing rocks, building fairy houses and forts, exploring trails, and imagining magical stories under the trees. Swasey Park gave him the freedom to roam and dream, and it holds some of our most cherished memories. This cache is our way of giving back—sharing a place that gave us so much joy.
Swasey Park is also steeped in local history. Native American tribes once fished and traveled along these waters. In 1816, John Bond Swasey built the canal that reshaped the area, and in 1976, his descendants gifted this land to the town. Today, it's a quiet, beloved retreat filled with wildlife, towering trees, and peaceful views.
The cache is just off Big Rock (Green) trail—easy enough for young explorers. It contains a logbook and some family-friendly trinkets.
