National Yard Games Day is celebrated on the first day of summer. This being Florida, "summer" lasts longer than in most other places, so we are celebrating a little later, on Saturday, June 28th, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
While the history of National Yard Games Day is short (dating back to only 2021), games commonly played in yards have been around much longer. Bocce was popular in the Roman Empire around the 16th century. Cornhole and croquet date back to the mid-1800's. Jenga was introduced at the London Toy Fair in 1983 and it was so well received it was picked up by a major toy manufacturer in 1984.
If you have a yard game that would be fun for the group to play, bring it along with your family and friends. The more the merrier!
