The Los Gatos Creek Trail is a great trail for Bay Area geocaching... and walking, running, dogwalking, bicycling, rollerblading, and general meandering. It definitely has a high muggle factor, so come prepared for maximum stealth!
This cache is placed at a cool little redwood grove that marks the border between the trail and a housing development behind it. Redwoods are iconic in the Bay Area and home to an uncounted number of caches. I'd love to know how many redwoods are home to ammo cans in the woods. That's what you're looking for here, although "woods" might be a bit of a stretch. This cache requires a few steps off the trail and maybe a bit of branch dodging.
The nearest access points that appear on the map are in a housing development, but the entrance is public and you can walk in. Another recommended parking waypoint is provided.
The Los Gatos Creek Trail has no posted hours. Bicycles and dogs are allowed. Happy hunting!
