The Fourth of July, Independence Day, is the birthday of our nation. We celebrate and enjoy the freedom that comes with the event that made this day so special. And, we do so in a big way. There are parades and picnics, the rockets red glare, and the bombs bursting in air (at fireworks shows anyway).
Thomas Jefferson led a committee that crafted the Declaration between June 11 and 28, 1776. Jefferson and other representatives from the thirteen colonies voted and approved it on July 4, 1776. The actual signing didn't happen until weeks later.
The Washington State Geocaching Association sponsors this event. It is open to all geocachers: Puget Sound area cachers and visitors, WSGA members and non-members, seasoned cachers and newcomers, and families are all welcome.
If you are a geocacher in the State of Washington, please consider joining the WSGA. Follow this link to visit our website to learn more about becoming a WSGA member.
