Heesco Town, is the transformation of Yarram, Victoria, into a vibrant street art destination which subsequently won the Australian Award for Best Street Art Trail in 2020 and 2021. In 2023 the water tower won Best Street Art Experience” in Victoria and Bronze Award for Best Mega Mural in Australia.
The murals came about from a collaborative effort spearheaded by local resident Eric Greenaway and artist Wayne Tindall, then owner of the Bull bar and an artist himself. Wayne Tindal invited renowned street artist Heesco Khosnaran to paint murals across the town. The community was consulted as to what was important and many locals legends and town history are depicted in the murals.
Wayne Tindall was recognized for his role in the project being awarded the inaugural Outstanding Contribution to Australian Art Tourism award in 2022
This project aimed to revitalize Yarram after it suffered from the effects of bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic.
