SEARCHERS' NOTE after Description
This cache is something of a partner with GCB68XC in Blair Athol. There I had only intended to do one cache, and I kept on finding new spots that (in my judgement) deserved one. Here in Harrington Park, I’d always known there’d be a few caches, but felt a decent number had been placed. So, apart from replacing one I’d archived, I thought we’d covered things fairly well. Then on a recreational walk, I discovered three more possibles … this is one.
Which shows something that is great about this pastime … not only does it mean other people can bring you to places you didn’t know about (and never would have), but it also raises your alertness to parts of YOUR OWN ENVIRONMENT that could often just slip by unnoticed.
In the case of this location, we have been driving along Sir Warwick Fairfax Dr & past this body of water since 2016, but the view there is obscured by trees. “It’s just Narellan Creek” after all. It’s only from here at this cul-de-sac, where no-one but residents come, do you get an appreciation of its dimensions. Not as big as Harrington Park Lake to be sure, but quieter, more secluded. No wonder the area has a small family of roos that have survived all this time.
So find the cache (not hard) and stay a few minutes to drink in this piece of suburban seclusion.
SEARCHERS' NOTE ... Please roll log tightly and place into LID of cache first. "Stealth" attribute not marked ... area is quiet, and the odd stranger is not out of place. Nevertheless, nearby homes mean 'commonsense' is advisable when searching.
It helps on these days if you can cope with a chilly climate. SurdiVisio's not put off by a few icicles and scores another FTF. 👏👏
