This is Faerie Spring. This natural spring runs year round.
Signs posted recommend caution drinking the water. Many people swear that this is the cleanest and freshest water in Colorado.
The complete history of the the Loveland Pass spring also known as Faerie Spring is unknown. It is possible that it was built during construction of Highway 6 as a way to prevent the water from undermining the road.
There’s only one clue. Inside the metal lid of the rock structure is this inscription:
“E.A. Jones
July 30, 1958
Built to Last
1000 yrs.”
Ample and safe pull off parking.
Bring your own pen.
Bring a large container for clean crispy mountain spring water.
