The Strange Fish Series gives recognition, and a little respect, to the unusual and too often unappreciated fish species of Wisconsin. As always I put "the cache near the catch", although due to an existing cache I had to put this one up the road a bit. Probably best anyway, the landing area often has people around. btw, they were all impressed that I'd caught a Sauger there. This is an unusual one.
It's a fair bet that most of you not only have never caught a Sauger, but you don't even know what it looks like. This cache should help you out, and enable you to tell the difference between this fish and its more famous relative.
As usual with this series I have put the cache on "a stringer". Because it is just off the road, and I suspect the underbrush is impressive later in the year, I've added a small marker flag at the spot. Hopefully it hangs around a while.
Happy fishing, TLGC19
