An der Sauer zwischen Tadler und Gösdorf erhebt sich ein hoher, zackiger Fels, Däiwelslee genannt. Mitten in der Däiwelslee springt eine kegelartige Erhöhung hervor, die man Priedegtstull nennt. Hart an der Däiwelslee befindet sich die Jaslee, an deren Fuß die Sauer einen tiefen Tümpel bildet. Diese beiden Felsen wimmelten immer von giftigem Gewürm. Das Volk glaubt, die Däiwelslee sei behext. Nie ließen die Leute das Vieh an diesem Felsen grasen; Gras, das dort gerupft und gemäht worden war, wagte man nie den Tieren vorzulegen. „Was rein ist“, sagten die Leute, „soll rein bleiben“. Man erzählt, es habe einst ein Weib in dieser Lee gewohnt, das man nie aus- und eingehen sah, und von dessen Herkunft niemand etwas wusste. Auch Hexen haben einst in dieser Lee gehaust. Man wusste nie, wie sie ein- und ausgingen; sie setzten über Büsche und Bäume hinweg. Warf man einen Stein in das Gebüsch des Felsens hinein, so erscholl lautes Gelächter.

Au bord de la Sûre, entre Tadler et Gösdorf, se dresse un rocher haut et dentelé appelé Däiwelslee (la falaise du diable). Au milieu de la Däiwelslee se trouve une élévation conique appelée Priedegtstull (chaise du prêtre) . Tout près de la Däiwelslee se trouve la Jaslee, au pied de laquelle la Sûre forme un profond bassin. Ces deux rochers étaient toujours infestés de vers venimeux. Les gens croyaient que le Däiwelslee était ensorcelé. Ils ne laissaient jamais leur bétail paître près de ce rocher et n'osaient pas donner aux animaux l'herbe qui y avait été arrachée ou fauchée. « Ce qui est pur doit rester pur », disaient-ils. On raconte qu'une femme vivait autrefois dans cette Lee, que personne ne voyait jamais entrer ni sortir et dont personne ne connaissait l'origine. Des sorcières ont également habité cette Lee autrefois. On ne savait jamais comment elles entraient et sortaient ; elles passaient par-dessus les buissons et les arbres. On the banks of the Sauer river between Tadler and Gösdorf stands a tall, jagged rock called the Devils' Rock. In the middle of the Devils' Rock is a cone-shaped elevation called the Priedegtstull (Priest's Seat). Close to the Devils' Rock is the Jaslee, at the foot of which the Sauer forms a deep pool. These two rocks were always swarming with poisonous worms. The people believe that the Däiwelslee is bewitched. The people never let their cattle graze on this rock; grass that had been plucked or mowed there was never fed to the animals. ‘What is pure,’ said the people, ‘should remain pure.’
It is said that a woman once lived in this lee, who was never seen coming or going, and whose origins were unknown to anyone. Witches also once lived in this lee. No one knew how they came and went; they stepped over bushes and trees. If you threw a stone into the bushes of the rock, loud laughter rang out.
