On August 1st, I will be hosting a park cleanup at White Oak County Park from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. We will be meeting up at Maple Shelter for this cleanup. The cleanup will include cleaning up the wooded area around this shelter and the other shelters close by as well as walking along the park road to pick up any litter that has been discarded along it. I will be bringing garbage bags and rubber gloves for this cleanup. If you want to provide your own work gloves, that would be a good idea. It would be advisable to wear appropriate footwear and possibly long pants so if you do encounter any poison ivy, it won’t get onto your skin. I will also have some bug spray that you can spray yourself with to help prevent tick and mosquito bites. The CITO will take place rain or shine, so please come prepared for the weather. I will also provide cold beverages in my cooler as well as some snacks. We will leave all collected garbage next to the shelter and public works will collect it in the morning.
