Geocache Description:

Welcome to my first ever Geocaching Series: Latrobe City Olympics!

This series is designed to give cachers a tour of different sporting venues around the Latrobe City council. Some are quite grand, while others may not even be in use anymore, but still make for interesting viewing nonetheless.

The entire round-trip can be completed in a couple of hours at a rush, but it is encouraged to enjoy and savour the experience, as well as get involved! There are plenty of opportunites as you travel to spectate, evaluate, and even partake in several of the activities presented.

Congratulations! You have made it to the ultimate stage of this series! You have travelled far, searched high and low, and put your body to the test in feats of athleticism no ordinary Geocacher could imagine! And now is the time to receive your prize: your very own GOLD MEDAL!!

At the posted co-ordinates, you will arrive at the Morwell Centenary Rose Garden, a rose filled parkland of over 2 hectares which invites the visitor to relax and explore this perfumed wonderland. The garden never closes and admission is free. The garden proudly showcases over 3500 roses in manicured beds edged with paving bricks, complementing the magnificence of the entire garden. Wheelchair friendly pathways. This community project is a continuing work undertaken by the “Friends of the Rose Garden” volunteers, sponsors and with the generous support of Latrobe City Council. In 2009 this garden was presented with an Award of Garden Excellence by the World Federation of Rose Societies, only the second rose garden in Australia to be honoured with this prestigious award at that time.

OPTIONAL EXTRA (at the posted co-ordinates):

As an optional extra, feel free to post a picture of yourself, your team, or something that shows your Geocaching username, alongside the beautiful 'Gold Medal' roses (which is where the posted co-ordinates are). Go on, have a sniff. You've earned it!
(N.B. If there are no roses in bloom, you can use one of the plaques in the garden bed that shows the "Gold Medal" rose location.)

PUZZLE:

This puzzle requires you to collect the clues from all 14 of the sporting caches that have been hidden all around the Latrobe City council. You should have 14 clues in total, with a letter corresponding to a number (e.g. A=5); letters A through to N have been used. Here is a list of all the sports caches you must find:
1. Skateboarding (GCB7Y26)
2. Athletics (GCB7Y3W)
3. Soccer (GCB7Y77)
4. Shooting (GCB7Z8X)
5. Canoeing (GCB7ZA9)
6. Cycling (GCB7ZFN)
7. Golf (GCB7ZH6)
8. Equestrian (GCB80XY)
9. Table Tennis (GCB80ZM)
10. Badminton (GCB8CR4)
11. Hockey (GCB8HYR)
12. Tennis (GCB8HZM)
13. Judo (GCB8J0R)
14. Baseball (GCB8NXV)

Once you have found all the clues, you must solve this puzzle:

***NEW PUZZLE***
S 38° 13.(A+B-H) (D+J) (F-G)′
E 146° 25.(C-K) ((I+N)/H) (L*(M-E))′

The physical cache is a camo sistema container, which contains some swaps, plus a physical GOLD MEDAL. The gold medal is not for swaps, rather it is there if you wish to post a picture with yourself, your team, or something that shows your Geocaching username/s displaying the gold medal (optional). Please BYO writing stick, and make sure you replace the cache exactly as you found it.

I hope everyone enjoyed this series - thank you all for playing along!
