Geocache Description:

The Lymm Crown Conspiracy

Disaster has struck the Kingdom of Lymm

The ruler of nonsense Rory’s beloved Crown Jewels last seen glinting under the disco ball at the royal cider tasting have vanished!

Queen Annette is fuming, the royal cider is now being stored under lock and key, and someone’s been using the royal sceptre as a back scratcher.

The culprit? A shadowy figure known only as Hitman; a thief so elusive he once escaped capture by disguising himself as a barrel of custard.

The kingdom is in uproar. Rory has already replaced his crown with an inflatable one from the castle gift shop, and Annette has taken to wearing a colander “until the real one turns up.”

But hope remains! Enter the dynamic duo: the ever-curious Detective Webber and the slightly bewildered but enthusiastic Inspector Trotter. Armed with a magnifying glass, a map, and a suspiciously sticky cider bottle, they’ve tracked Hitman’s glittery trail to a series of clues scattered across the land.

Now it’s your turn to join the investigation solve the riddles, follow the coordinates, and help recover the royal bling before Rory starts issuing royal decrees in rhyming couplets.

Clue A: What year did Sir Thomas “Sticky Fingers” Ridgeway allegedly purchase the decoy lake to distract from his jewel-smuggling tunnel?

Clue B: What is the orienteering number etched at the bottom of the stairs, supposedly by Rory’s pet ferret, Sir Squeaksalot?

Clue C: On the plaque honouring Stuart “Lionheart” Henshaw, what year is engraved rumoured to be the year he hid the royal tiara in a teapot?

Clue D:  In what year was Robert Fysh born he allegedly form the Rambling Club as a cover for jewel reconnaissance missions?

Clue E: What colour were the rocks on the bench, and how many letters are in that colour? (Hint: Possibly jewel fragments?)

Clue F: Count the letters in the name of the bird in the picture—rumoured to be Hitman’s lookout.

Clue G: What is the orienteering number found here, possibly used as a code to unlock the royal biscuit tin?

Clue H: Name the estate Lymm Dam is part of and count the letters—rumoured to be the name of the Hitman's getaway horse.

Clue I: What is the alphabet number of the upside-down letter carved into the tree? (Possibly a secret code left by Hitman's tree-dwelling accomplice.)

Clue J: What number is painted on the post? (Some say it’s the number of times the Hitman escaped the Tower of London.)

Clue K: How many letters are in the colour of the door possibly the entrance to Hitman's secret lair?

Clue L: What is the Ordnance Survey map number? (Used by Hitman to plan his royal escape route.)

Clue M: How many million years ago was the sandstone formed—possibly the hiding place of Queen Annette’s emergency tiara?

Final Riddle:

You’ve cracked the clues, followed the trail, and uncovered secrets that would make even Annette spill her cider.

But one final puzzle remains…

To find the hiding place of the missing Crown Jewels, you must solve two ancient equations whispered through the royal cider barrels:

Equation 1: This will reveal the Northing of the final location.

N53 22 _ _ _     (L + M + J + G + F + H + I) + (H x (K+E)) +F

Equation 2: This will reveal the Westing of the final location.

W002 28 _ _ _     ((C+A-D)/(K-E))-(B-(H+E))

Plug in the answers you’ve gathered, and the coordinates will lead you to the final cache.

But beware—Hitman may have left behind one last trap… or perhaps just a suspiciously fizzy bottle of cider.
