This Geocache is placed with permission from The City of Newton Recreation Dept. It is placed in conjunction with a City sponsored Geocaching Workshop for Seniors. You can call it Geocaching 101.

“The Cove” is a neighborhood recreation area known for bordering the Charles River, canoe/kayak launch area, picnic and BBQ area, tennis and pickleball courts, softball diamond and many walking paths and ice skating in the winter. It’s a perfect spot to place a geocache.
The workshop was an introduction to the sport and its history.
It included what you needed to get started, how to use a GPSr, smart phone technology, logging your finds and geocaching etiquette. Also what you should bring with you in a “cache-kit”.
This is a "Trad", meaning that as the original developers of geocaching intended, it contains many items to be exchanged. and a short log as to your "adventures" when searching and finding the "prize". The idea is to "take something' and "leave something". Rotating the container inventory. Enjoy the "hunt"!!!
Plenty of parking and other activities to supplement and add to your geocaching .experience.
CACHE ON!!
