On the 22nd June 2025 Tarvin Brownies will have been going strong for Fifty years.
To celebrate we have set up a geocaching trail. We have made it as easy as possible so that the Brownies and Guides will be able to find the caches without too much trouble. There will be a number of straight forward jigidis, easy quizzes and in some cases we will just tell you where the cache is. None of the caches are at the posted co-ordinates
Most of the caches are on quiet roads or paths, although there is a busier section of road in places.
Girls make their Promise once they are ready to become Brownies (normally after a few sessions at the unit to make sure they like it) It usually happens at a promise ceremony and there may be more than one Brownie making their promise at the same time. The important bits are that the person making their Promise does so and that they get the badge. Everything else is pretty much up to the unit and indeed, to the person.
Once they have made their promise the Brownie is given their promise badge.
The promise has changed 10 times since the original in 1914.
