On the 22nd June 2025 Tarvin Brownies will have been going strong for Fifty years.
To celebrate we have set up a geocaching trail. We have made it as easy as possible so that the Brownies and Guides will be able to find the caches without too much trouble. There will be a number of straight forward jigidis, easy quizzes and in some cases we will just tell you where the cache is. None of the caches are at the posted co-ordinates
Most of the caches are on quiet roads or paths, although there is a busier section of road in places
Prior to 1982, Brownie units were not permitted to have or carry flags, but instead carried ‘Pennants’ – a triangle of brown leather mounted on a short pole around a foot long. The Brownie badge and the unit’s name were painted in golden yellow on each side. 2nd Tarvin Brownies still have their original pennant that is used when the Brownies parade in the village on occasions like Rememberance Day or St Georges Day.
