Just a stones throw from busy Flagler Ave. lies Charles Dummett in the middle of Conova Street.
Born August 18, 1844
Entered here April 23, 1860, age 15.
The story goes that Charles stayed home from school to go hunting with a friend. This area wasn't what you see today. It was wooded and full of wildlife. Charles tripped, causing his gun to fire, the bullet hitting him and he lost his life. His grief stricken father buried him where he fell. And here he remains. His gravesite sits in the middle of a public road in the median.
There is no parking near the cache. Park on Flagler Ave or one of the public parking areas and walk the short distance to pay respects and find the container.
