Another in my series based off of Labyrinth! Labyrinth is a 1986 musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson with George Lucas as executive producer. The film stars Jennifer Connelly as 16-year-old Sarah and David Bowie as Jareth, the Goblin King.
The Fireys are a group of creatures encountered by Sarah in Labyrinth. These creatures are devoted to having a good time, which includes removing their limbs, heads, and other body parts to use as items in their games. The members of the "Fire Gang" don't seem to understand that Sarah's limbs don't detatch like theirs. They prove to be a great distraction as Sarah tries to work her way through the Labyrinth ... and is fortunately rescued from potential harm.
During the song "Chilly Down" the story is moved along with chatter as they toss their heads around like balls...
Fire Gang: "Hey, hey! Her head don't come off."
Sarah: "Of course it doesn't!
Fire Gang: "She's right. It's stuck on. Hey, lady." "Where you going with a head like that?" "Hey, man, I know what we can do. Take off her head!"
Sarah: takes one of their heads
Fire Gang: "Lady, that's his head." "That's my head!" "That's a friend of mine." "What are you doing?
Sarah: takes all of their many of their heads and throws them
Fire Gang: Hey, lady..." ...it's against the rules to throw other people's heads". "You're only allowed to throw your own head." "Yeah, that's right. Where's the referee?"
Hopefully no one loses their head playing any of the games in nearby fields! Please use stealth as you go to find this one when games are in session. It's up on a slightly elevated area but can be soggy in the approach after a heavy downpour. Be careful and watch your surroundings with the slope near the creek.
