Another in my Labyrinth series. Labyrinth is a 1986 musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson with George Lucas as executive producer. The film stars Jennifer Connelly as 16-year-old Sarah and David Bowie as Jareth, the Goblin King.
Sir Didymus is an often illogically heroic knight who Sarah encounters when she attempts to leave The Bog Of Eternal Stench in Labyrinth. Sir Didymus appears to be a type of fox-terrier, and is usually seen riding on the back of his cowardly sheep-dog mount Ambrosius. Hmmm, sure looks like Sarah's dog from back home.
The guard lives in a little hut next to the bridge which is the only way out of the area. He "battles" Ludo, conceeds defeat and lets Ludo pass but continues to argue with Sarah.
Sir Didymus: Wait a minute! You forget my sacred vow, my lady.I cannot let you pass. I have taken an oath, and I must defend it to the death.
Sarah: Okay. Let's handle this thing logically. What exactly have you sworn?
Sir Didymus: I have sworn with my lifeblood no one shall pass this way...without my permission.
Sarah: Well, may we have your permission? (slightly exasperated)
Sir Didymus: Well, I...
Sarah: Yes? Thank you, noble sir. (as Sarah and Hoggle rush to go across the bridge)
Sir Didymus joins them for the rest of their journey to the center of the Labyrinth and represents the courage that Sarah must exhibit to continue the journey and win her brother back.
You shouldn't be met by Sir Didymus but do watch your step as you navigate the bridge area to secure your smiley! The area may be wet at times and muggles could be shopping nearby. If there are activities are outside of the building (rare but possible), please pick a different time to snag this. The land/building/parking is owned by the church and this cache is placed with their permission .... just watch for the muggles who have a business near this area.
Please return well to reduce the chance of it being dislodged in heavy rain.
