Ist man entweder zu Fuss oder auf dem Fahrrad in der Region Stans/Oberdorf unterwegs trifft man immer wieder auf zahlreiche Kirchen und Kapellen. Von der kleinen Kapelle am Rand eines Wanderweges bis zur grossen Hauptkirche auf dem Stanser Dorfplatz.
Vor einiger Zeit sind bin ich per Zufall in einer der kleineren Kapellen auf eine Karte des Kirchen- und Kapellenweges Stans-Oberdorf gestossen die eine zusammenhängende Wanderung entlang aller Kirchen und Kapellen in Stans und Oberdorf zeigt. Dadurch kam mir die Idee zu diesem Multi-Cache.
Der Cache führt euch ausgehend vom Dorfplatz in Stans entlang entlang fast aller Kirchen und Kapellen in Stans und Oberdorf. An jeder Station finden sich neben den imposanten Gebäuden kleine Informationstafeln zur Geschichte der jeweiligen Kirche oder Kapelle.
An jeder Etappe muss eine kurze Information gesammelt werden mit derer Hilfe ihr am Ende die Finalkoordinaten berechnen könnt. Zum Sammeln der Informationen muss keine der Kirchen oder Kapellen betreten werden, sodass der Multicache auch absolviert werden kann falls einzelne der Gebäude geschlossen sein sollten.
Denjenigen von euch die den Weg bereits kennen fällt vielleicht auf das zwei Stationen fehlen:
Die Spitalskapelle gehört aus offensichtlichen Gründen nicht in einen Multicache und die Kapelle St. Anna, Waltersberg in Oberdorf habe ich aus Entfernungsgründen bewusst weggelassen. Für die ehrgeizigen unter euch gibt es dort aber einen Tradi GCB93FH.
Zum Cache:
Der Cache kann entweder zu Fuss oder mit dem Velo absolviert werden. Die T-Wertung orientiert sich daran das man zu Fuss geht. Mit dem Velo ist sie deutlich leichter. Geht ihr zu Fuss handelt es sich insgesamt sicher um eine gute Tageswanderung, mit dem Velo ohne E-Antrieb ist der Weg wahrscheinlich in ca. 3h zu schaffen. Wenn ihr die jeweiligen Stationen noch ausführlich von Innen besichtigt wird es natürlich entsprechend länger, lohnt sich jedoch sehr. Damit euer Fleiss auch aus Cacher Sicht am Ende belohnt wird habe ich zusätzlich zum Multi noch einen Bonus Cache GCB91C6 versteckt. Dessen Koordinaten lassen sich auch aus den gesammelten Informationen der Multistationen berechnen, die Formel findet ihr im Deckel der Finaldose.

Churches and Chapels Trail Stans/Oberdorf
If you are on your way either by foot or by bike in the Stans/Oberdorf region, you'll repeatedly come across numerous churches and chapels starting from very small chapels at the edge of a hiking trail to the large main church on Stans' village square.
A while ago, I incidentially came across a map of the Stans-Oberdorf Church and Chapel Trail in one of the smaller chapels, which shows a continuous hike along all the churches and chapels in Stans and Oberdorf. This encounter gave me the idea for the multi-cache.
The cache leads you from the village square in Stans along almost all the churches and chapels in Stans and Oberdorf. At each stop, next to the impressive buildings, you'll find small information panels about the history of the respective church or chapel.
At each stage, you have to collect a brief piece of information that will help you calculate the final coordinates at the end. You don't have to enter any of the churches or chapels to collect the information, so the multi-cache can be completed even if some of the buildings are closed.
Those of you who already know the route may notice that two stations are missing:
The Hospital Chapel does not belong in a multicache for obvious reasons, and I deliberately omitted the Chapel of St. Anna, Waltersberg in Oberdorf due to its distance towards the rest of the trail. For the ambicious among you there is a traditional GCB93FH at this chapel.
The Cache:
The cache can be accessed either on foot or by bike. The T rating is based on walking. It's significantly easier by bike. If you walk, it's definitely a good day hike; on a non-electric bike, the route can probably be completed in about 3 hours. If you explore each of the stations in detail, it will of course take longer, but it's definitely worth it. To ensure your diligence is rewarded from a cacher's perspective, I've hidden a bonus cache (GCB91C6) in addition to the multi-station cache. Its coordinates can also be calculated from the information collected at the multi-cache stages. The formula to calculate the coordinates of the bonus is hidden in the lid of the container.
