Welcome to the "Game On" series, where I am incorporating classic games into the geocaching landscape.
The Cache:
This puzzle is inspired by the popular party game Code Words, where players try to guess a secret word based on clues that connect it to other words. In this version, your task is to find the missing word that links two others — either coming before or after — to form familiar phrases or compound words.
For example:
Given the words 'Wedding' and 'Walk', the connecting word is Cake — as in 'Wedding Cake' and 'Cake Walk'.
The clues are structured in increasing difficulty:
- The first few provide the first letter of the answer and the word length.
- Then, you'll be given the last letter of the answer and the word length.
- Then, only the last letter.
- And finally, you're on your own — no hints at all.
Provide the checker with the final word, and if it is happy with your offering it will provide you with the coordinates
