The nearby water tower was built in 1981 & can hold 300,000 gallons of water. It is the older of the 2 water towers in Pine Island. The water tower is emblazoned with "Panthers", which is the mascot of Pine Island Public Schools. One thing I love about geocaching is that it brings me places I've never been before, and this is no exception as I've seen it since moving to SE MN 20 years ago, but never taken the time to come to its base before placing this cache.
