(2/6/2006 - Many thanks to workerofwood for creating a new
container for this cache!)
My daughter came up with the idea of this cache, and she and my
son helped scout out the location.
It is located right next to the Los Gatos Creek Trail inside
Vasona Park. You can pay to enter the park, but free parking is
available on the street (I think it is University and Blossom Hill)
near the train. And you can enter the park for free by following
the trail from many locations.
Even though it is right next to the trail, it is not visible to
people passing by, and little ones may not be able to reach it. I
am assuming that an adult will be there to help out...:-). It is
along a part of the trail that can get kind of busy, so try to be
discreet when retrieving and re-placing the cache. You will need to
bring your own PEN to sign the log (pencil does not work
well on the waterproof paper).
We are not sure that collecting the new state quarters is all
the rage it used to be, but it does make for something interesting
to trade for a micro cache.
As the name suggests, this is a trading post. So, take a quarter
you need for your collection, leave a different one for someone
else.
While you are on the trail, you might want to make a day of it
and also visit other
nearby caches.
