Mount Cole Camping (MCC) Series #5 - Richards
Richards Campground is a sheltered campsite at the base of Mount Cole.
Camping
Camping is allowed in tents only, with car parking very close to the campgrounds.
It is not suitable for campervans, trailers or caravans.
Facilities
Facilities include fire pits, picnic tables and drop toilets.
The hut is no longer, as it was burnt in the Bayindeen - Mount Cole bushfire of February 2024.
Access
Richards is fully accessible by 2WD via The Glut Road, passing the Cave Hill Creek eco-resort along the way.
Richards is frequently used as a start/finish base for hikers walking the 21km 2-day Beeripmo Walk circuit. There is also a 2km return walk up to the Raglan Falls lookout. Both walks are along marked tracks but involve some steep inclines and climbing over rocks or fallen trees.
