Roselle Park was formerly pasture land owned by Ada Beef Company. Through a community partnership initiative in 2002, the property was turned into a township park.
In 2005, specifically on June 29 of that year, RedhedMary discovered geocaching. A few weeks later, as many players do, I decided to hide my first geocache. I had heard of this recently developed park not too far from my house. It wasn't all that developed yet but there were unpaved trails. I hid my first geocache there on July 20 of 2005 and its name incorporated the property's former use. GCPTCH was named "Where's the Beef?" It had a good two year run but after a period of being disabled due to park construction, it was archived. I placed several other Beef related caches in the park over the years and some are still active.
20 years later, I'm still geocaching. I've slowed down some, mainly due to work schedules and the lack of close caches that I haven't found. I still love it though.
This cache was placed for my community celebration event of my 20th cacheaversary. FTF honors to the event attendees on 6/29/2025. This cache is very close to the big tree where my first cache was hidden.
FTF honors for the original cache were shared by Tikibirds and Sunshine Gang. Cows crossed the trail while they were walking toward the cache!
