Geocache Description:

Now wakes the owl, now sleeps the swan
Behold a dream, the dream is gone
Green fields, a cold rain
Is falling in a golden dawn

Welcome to our latest offering, A Pillow Of Winds, located on the beautiful New South Wales mid-north coast.

The cache is a small ammo can so please consider this as bulky swaps may not fit.

SH5610 Armidale 1:250,000 was used in planning this cache. However the following maps may be more useful;
  • 9436 Macksville 1:100,000
  • 9436-2-N Eungai 1:25,000
  • 9436-2-S Cylbucca 1:25,000
Allow an hour or so return from the Pacific Hwy exit point. I left the long black snake behind at S30º 51.256' E152º 54.919' (approx). You can also enter via Cooks Lane or Hills Lane. A more southerly exit point may be possible but access to GZ is not assured.

Warnings:
  • The mid-north coast is at times at the business end of the forestry industry and as such there is a possibility of encountering forestry & logging trucks. The cache is hidden in a previously logged area but there were still signs activity in the area at the time of planting. Heed any warning signs you may come across and drive responsibly.
  • A standard clearance car will get you to ground zero, but the tracks may be slippery / muddy after rain.
Enjoy a pleasant drive in the backblocks and good luck in your search for A Pillow Of Winds.
