Keep an eye on the tide...at especially high times, you will need to WADE your way to the cache (not too deep...up to your shins at the highest). Keep your eyes peeled for all kinds of sealife!
We created "Jellyfish Beach" to honor this little "beach" on Little Torch Key, Florida. We know that this spot goes by other names, but this is our story: When we first moved to our house on this key halfway between Marathon and Key West, we made our way to the banks of this somewhat-hidden (from 4A) spot, and ventured into the water for an inagural dip. Our two young nephews were with us. The water was gorgeous and refreshing...and deep! *A few yards past the edge of the beach, the bottom drops out. We were floating peacefully in the deep, until one of us asked the others, "What are these little things in the water? Are they tiny flowers?" Nope, not flowers. Baby jellyfish! We'd inadvertently swam into a whole smack of them. We started to feel the effects almost immediately...little stings all over our bodies. We hightailed it back home and laughed off (and washed off) our adventure. We dubbed our little beach "Jellyfish Beach" from that moment on.
Please help us keep this area clean, especially picking up after your pooch.
