This is the second geocache hidden in the Dominican Republic. It is located approximately 2 km from the existing DR1 geocache in Punta Cana. If you are staying at, or near, the Breezes Punta Cana Resort you can easily walk to the site.
The geocache is buried just off the beach at the base of a “palmless palmtree” on a sandy mound near the edge of the forest. We hope that, during rough weather, the surf never makes it to this mound of sand.
Our GPS accuracy was 5 meters, so the waypoint should easily take you right to the treasure. The container includes a number of items you might enjoy on your trip. Let us know if you find it!
Updates on Jan 1, 2005:
1. The dead palmtree is reported to be gone, but the geocache is still present on the mound of sand.
2. A "Lucky Canuck" travel bug was left very near this geocache at the waypoint N 18 44.312 W 068 28 840.
