Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Fall Fest 2025 81 Grid Series

This series will offer a variety of DT ratings throughout Brantford and Brant County - be prepared for almost anything. They are being placed for GCAX1X1 Fall Fest 2025, but are not part of the GeoChallenge and are NOT challenge caches. Some will be park and grabs, while others will involve longer hikes or TOTTs. Please check the descriptions and attributes for each cache and do not attempt anything outside of your comfort zone. These caches are being placed to appeal to a wide variety of caching levels and abilities.

The cache IS located at the posted coordinates, however we know this type of hide often makes geocachers roll their eyes in dismay. Therefore, we've made a little riddle to help you find the cache.

You're looking for a small twist-top container wrapped in black hockey tape that contains a log, a stamp, a stamp pad, and some small trade items. Please note, the stamp pad and stamp are NOT trade items and should remain in the cache.

About this Cache:

Some folks are laser-focused when they're out geocaching... but not me. Nope. I’m what you'd call “a little squirrelly.” I start walking toward the cache — then oooh, shiny rock! Or hey, is that a fossil?! Suddenly I’m crouched in the dirt, poking at pebbles, tracing fossils in stone, or stuffing yet another “really cool rock” into my pockets (even though I already have a backpack full of them).

If you’re anything like me, you might just find yourself stopping every few steps to admire a chunk of quartz, a glimmer of mica, or the imprint of some ancient sea creature from millions of years ago. This area is perfect for that kind of distraction with some very clear fossil specimens — so take your time, look around, and enjoy the treasures hidden in plain sight.

Eventually, when the rocks stop whispering your name (or you run out of pocket space), you'll remember there's still a geocache to be found. It’s tucked away nearby, waiting patiently while you get distracted by nature's little surprises. Have a look at the photos below, and try to match them up to fossils in the rocks. Then, follow the directions from each of those photos, and the cache should be in hand in no time.

So embrace your inner squirrel — scurry, explore, be curious... but don’t forget why you’re here. Or do. Honestly, finding cool rocks is half the fun anyway. 🐿️🪨

From #1 - Three over, and about the same level
From #2 - Two over and down a bit
From #3 - Around the corner, but about the same level
From #4 - Five Over and up a lot

Please replace this cache exactly where found, so others can also follow the directions provided.
