The school in Buchanan, Saskatchewan, known as Devils Lake School District #514, has a history dating back to 1899. Initially, the school was located on the property at SE1/4 Sec. 17-30-5 W2nd along the shore of Good Spirit Lake. In or around 1913, the school was relocated to its present site. The school was also known as McCraney School District No. 3377, organized in 1914 with classes commencing in 1917 and continuing until 1943. The school reopened in 1954-1955. The School in Buchanan, Saskatchewan, closed on August 17, 1992, following a decision by the Board of Education for the Canora School Division No. 37 of Saskatchewan. The building is used to this day as the local Community Centre.
You will be looking for a small container on the sports ground. It can be accessed in winter time using snow shoes! We have done this many times. The area is just big enough for us oldies to handle! :-)
