(Lëtzebuergesch) CITO mat der norwegescher Crew
Mir sinn eng léif Grupp aus Norwegen op Tournée, a gëtt et eng besser Manéier fir Sonn, Summer an eng gutt Dot ze kombinéieren? 💪🌞
Mir organiséieren e klengt awer sënnvollt CITO-Event fir Zigarettenstëmp an Dreck opzeraumen. Zesummen wäerte mir d'Ëmwelt e bësse méi propper maachen - a vläicht souguer anerer inspiréieren datselwecht ze maachen 💚♻️
Bréngt mat:
– Dreckstuten
– Handschuesch
– E Laachen an eng gutt Laun 😄
Mir treffen eis um 10:00 Auer op de gegebene Koordinaten a verbréngen ongeféier eng Stonn mam Botzen.
Loosst eis schwätzen, botzen a Spaass hunn, fir zesummen eppes z'änneren 🌊🌿
Hoffentlech gesi mir eis do!

(English) CITO with the Norwegian crew
We are a cheerful group from Norway on tour, and is there a better way to combine sun, summer and a good deed? 💪🌞
We are organizing a small but meaningful CITO event to clean up cigarette butts and trash. Together we will make the area a little cleaner - and maybe even inspire others to do the same 💚♻️
Bring with you:
– Trash bags
– Gloves
– A smile and a good mood 😄
We will meet at the given coordinates at 10:00 and spend about an hour cleaning.
Lesson of the day
Cigarette butts take a very long time to break down in nature — and even then, they don’t fully biodegrade.
⏳ Estimated breakdown time:
-
Cigarette filter (butt): 10 to 15 years, sometimes even longer.
-
Made of cellulose acetate, a type of plastic, which breaks down into smaller microplastics but doesn’t fully decompose.
🧪 Environmental impact:
-
Toxic: Contains residues of nicotine, heavy metals, and other chemicals.
-
Harmful to wildlife: Animals may ingest them, mistaking them for food.
-
Water pollution: Chemicals can leach into soil and waterways.
➡️ So even a tiny cigarette butt is a big problem in nature — that’s why cleanups (like CITO events) are so important! 🌍🗑️
