Tolkien's Dwarves: Ori Traditional Cache

Ori was one of the thirteen dwarves who joined Thorin Oakenshield and Bilbo Baggins on their quest to reclaim Erebor (the Lonely Mountain) from the dragon Smaug. 

Key facts about Ori: 

• He was a member of the House of Durin, a remote kinsman of Thorin.
• He participated in the Quest of Erebor, surviving the Battle of Five Armies.
• In Tolkien's original books, Ori later joined Balin's ill-fated expedition to reclaim the ancient Dwarf realm of Moria.
• During this expedition, Ori chronicled the events in the Book of Mazarbul, which Gandalf and the Fellowship of the Ring later discovered in the Mines of Moria, where they found Ori's skeleton clutching the book, according to Tolkien Gateway.
• In Peter Jackson's The Hobbit film trilogy, Ori is portrayed as the younger brother of Dori and Nori, and a talented artist who documents their journey.
• In the films, he uses a slingshot as a weapon and shows surprising courage despite his initial timidity.
