Geocache Description:

This is a Multicache. There is no container at the posted coordinates.

I wanted to dedicate a geocache to my parents and thought my first hide should be the one to do that. My mom and dad starting geocaching in 2004 when they found their first geocache at Raccoon Creek State Park. To come up with a geocaching handle to log their first find they decided on a Warner Bros. cartoon skunk character whose first name was the same as my parent’s last name, and thus they became known as “TheLePews”. Soon they starting taking my sister and I with them on their geocaching outings, and we became geocachers known as Kidney Beans and CulinaryGirl13. They loved this activity and visiting all the interesting places geocaching took them to over the years. They were especially fond of finding geocaches at cemeteries. They would look for the dates on older headstones and feel some sadness when finding a grave of an infant or young child. My mom was always on the lookout for G.A.R. stars marking the location of Civil War veterans. Often, she would jot down the Name, Regiment Number and Company Letter to later have my dad search the internet for any history he could find on that person or his military unit. Over the years they discussed an idea on how they might, in some small way, contribute to this activity that they so loved after their deaths. My mom passed away in 2024, and my dad began to put their idea into action. When selecting the stone monument to mark their grave site, he had an image of their namesake holding a heart engraved into the back face of the monument. Within that heart are engraved six characters that now make the monument trackable.

I still go geocaching with my dad, knowing that someday he too will be joining my mom and as the front of the monument reads, they will be “Together Forever”.
