Geocache Description:

SK

Patril k najautentickejším a najtalentovanejším slovenským výtvarníkom.

Paralelne so svojou komornou tvorbou realizoval aj práce do architektúry.

BYOP. Pre FTF je pripravená malá pozornosť.

EN

Juraj Meliš was born in Nové Zámky in 1942, graduated from the gymnasium in 1960 -1966, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the studio of professor Jozef Kostka.

He was one of the most authentic and talented Slovak artists. He was a poet, ethicist, humanist, sociologist, a barometer of social and political situations.

His emergence on the art scene was impressive in terms of presentations and monumental works. Unfortunately, this period ended in 1972 with the banning of his exhibition activity at home and abroad. Therefore, he became part of the unofficial art scene for a long time. Along with his chamber works, he also realized works for architecture. He created several dozen works for exterior and interior, 10 of which were located in his hometown. Unfortunately not all of them have survived to this day.

The aim of the cache is to show the sculptures created for the first sculpture symposium conceived as a tribute to Juraj Meliš. Their authors are Slovak sculptors, among them several of his pupils.

Cache - a simple drive-in cache located by the IDEA sculpture - take care when hunting, the place tends to be busier during the day. BYOP. A little gift is prepared for the FTF.
