Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Fall Fest 2025 81 Grid Series

This series will offer a variety of DT ratings throughout Brantford and Brant County - be prepared for almost anything. They are being placed for GCAX1X1 Fall Fest 2025, but are not part of the GeoChallenge and are NOT challenge caches. Some will be park and grabs, while others will involve longer hikes or TOTTs. Please check the descriptions and attributes for each cache and do not attempt anything outside of your comfort zone. These caches are being placed to appeal to a wide variety of caching levels and abilities.

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, but it might be a good place to park and begin your Wherigo adventure. It is possible to walk to the cache from this location. If you prefer you can start your adventure from anywhere. The cache itself is a camo'd hanging nano, somewhere in the area, that contains a logbook. It's hanging overhead in a large tree.

This cache is a reverse Wherigo which is a unique type of cache. You will need a smart phone or a GPS that supports Wherigo in order to play the adventure. Once you have the app that you will be using you need to download a cartridge from the wherigo.com website

The cartridge was created by Waldmeister . The first cache in the series is called "The first Reverse Cache [WIG]". The Reverse Wherigo is a generic cartridge that works on many such caches worldwide. To identify this particular cache you must type a code into your player.

A Little About Reverse Wherigo Adventures:

A reverse Wherigo does not give you the coordinates for the cache. It only tells you how far away the cache is from your current location. It does NOT tell you what direction to go in. You can start the Wherigo anywhere, so you might begin fairly close to the cache or 50 miles or more away from the cache. After you have traveled a little ways you can re-check your distance to see if you are getting closer or further away from the cache. You can continue to check your distance at intervals as you move along. Once you check the distance you can adjust your direction of travel. Keep checking the distance until you are consistently getting closer. When you get close enough the cartridge will give you the final coordinates.

Some people like to see if they can minimize the number of distance checks. Theoretically, you should only need 3 queries to triangulate on the cache, but in practice you'll probably need many more.

In order to run the cartridge for this specific Wherigo you need to have three 6-digit code numbers.

NOW THE IMPORTANT STUFF - THE 3 CODE NUMBERS

321303
481507
578708

It's a good idea to write these numbers down just in case you have to restart the program for any reason (dead batteries, crashed program, etc.),

NOTES ON THIS PARTICULAR WHERIGO:

  • I am calling this a 4.5 difficulty because you're looking for a camo'd nano overhead in an evergreen tree. That can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
  • DO NOT include hints in your log about where and how you found the cache or post photos that would give away the final location or how to get there.

This cache is being placed for Fall Fest 2025! by a proud member of:
