This is a 2 stage multi in a part of these woods we hadn't been in until we hid this one. Until now, there were no caches to lure us in.
But it turns out to be a great area, and a nice little hike. The trail is mostly level and well-maintained, and you'll probably have it to yourself. It brings you through a section of the forest that was badly burned in 2024, so it will be interesting to watch nature's recovery.
We suggest parking at the end of Sharpner's Pond Road, where there is a large designated lot. From there it is a lovely loop of about 2 miles following Old Forest Street and the Fuller Trail. But there are many other ways into Boxwoods.
The hiding place for stage 1 reminded us of the villian in Disney's The Little Mermaid, thus the name. But we almost named it "Rocky Mountain High" for the final. (Those are hints.)
