**This cache is not at the posted location. Complete the "Robert D. Ray Asian Garden" Adventure Lab to find the true coordinates!**

The Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens opened in downtown Des Moines in 2009. This public space honors the legacy of Iowa Governor Robert D. Ray (1928-2018) but also highlights the importance of diversity in our communities and the important contributions of Asian Americans to Iowa. Governor Ray was the first public official to offer a safe haven in Iowa for Vietnamese people, created the Iowa SHARES program to supply food and medicines to help Asian countries, assisted in preserving the Tai Dam people and their culture, and welcomed many other Asian refugees to the state of Iowa.
This Adventure Lab will take you on a short tour through the Asian Garden, highlighting several of the features, but there are also many plaques and other information sources already present for you to observe and learn more about the contributions of Asians to the state of Iowa. The walk will be over fairly level pavement, gravel, and a wooden boardwalk. There is much more to explore than the features noted here, so enjoy your time and visit to this beautiful space.
The Lab is set up to offer a non-sequential play, however, it does make the most sense if you start at the south end of the Garden and move through the stops walking to the north. At one of the stops, coordinates will be revealed for this bonus cache. Thank you for coming to visit this space!
Enjoy your tour!
