It's SideTracked Day. Join me in front of King's Cross Station
to celebrate 18 years of SideTracked caches.
Sunday 10 August 2025, 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm
A meet and greet on the terrace of King's Cross station. Hopefully, it will be a lovely summer evening (at least stay dry).
Being SideTracked day, it's appropriate to meet up in front of one of London's main termini, with a daily average of over 67,000 passengers. It is both a railway station and underground station, as well as St Pancras which has the international rail services to Europe. In 2023/24 King's Cross was ranked the 17th most used station, out of the 2,581 stations in Great Britain.
The name King's Cross came from a short-lived statue of King George IV, which was erected at the crossroads outside the station. The monument itself was completed in 1836, then demolished in 1845 but the area and the station retained the name.
All geocachers are invited, let's discuss our fun hobby, relate our tales of today's geocaching and enjoy the end of a summer's day.
About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too.
