Most folks know that Magnolia grandiflora aka is the magnolia is the state's flower. But do you know what the state's wildflower is?
Coreopsis lanceolata, also known commonly as tickseed, can be found growing all across the state, usually lighting up the roadsides in brilliant fiery displays during late spring through summer- as long as the road crews don't come and mow them down first, that is. Both sides of the road near this cache can be covered in tickseed. Stop and pick a few and and be sure to enjoy their cherry display while you drive!
There's decent parking on the road where the cache is hidden, but, as always, watch out for passing cars and be sure to snag any litter that may strewn about!
