Geocache Description:

Kick off the weekend with a picnic and bonfire Friday Oct. 3rd!

That's right, I am back hosting this year!  (Thanks to Stump for hosting last year when i was unable to host.)

20th Anniversary - what do I have up my sleeve for this year?

We will have the gate open by 2 PM, so you may come and camp out.  The camping area will be open all weekend (as long as the ground  is dry enough for people to drive in and park) for anyone who would like to stay. Yes, that means you can come in and setup anytime on Friday. It can accommodate tents, trailers and motorhomes. It is primitive, no water or electric.

We will start about 5 PM with the cookout. Bring your drinks and a dish to pass. Please plan on taking with you your leftovers from your dish to pass.  The hive has lots of hot dogs, but if you want, you can bring some other meat. In the past, people have brought hamburgers and Italian sausage.  The Beehive will provide all the paper goods and silverware, etc.

The campfire afterwards usually lasts well into the night (although the hosts usually head home sooner after picking up the campfire). It's a great opportunity to meet and talk with fellow cachers, tell tales, and possibly enjoy an adult beverage or two.

Dogs are welcome, but please bring them on a leash as it is hard to predict how your dog may react to other dogs or the kids that WILL be running around.

NOTE: I plan to rent a porta-potty for the weekend.  This will be my donation to the event.  In previous years, some people gave money to me to defer the cost (sometimes instead of bringing food for potluck) and that was greatly appreciated, too.

This is all courtesy of the wonderful Swanson family who allow us to use and enjoy their beautiful property for our geocaching fun, so if you see them at the campfire, be sure to say thanks, and as always, respect the grounds.

There are many caches on or very near the camping area, including one at the nearby golf course for the kids. Also, please feel free to find one of the LivCo200 geocaches (Livingston County Bicentennial Geocaches) placed peviously by members of the Bee Hive!  I WILL have a new night cache!  So, make sure to bring your flashlights, boots, and maybe even your UV light!

Please log your will attend with what you plan to bring so we can get a rough count on how many and what will be brought. Hope to see everyone there!

Big thanks to our Beehive friends for helping us with this event (because we couldn't do it without their help)!
