Greetings,
We were recently asked what scares us.
To answer honestly, a response based largely outside of any "Horror/Sci-Fi" narrative would be required.
The following poem, however, is an example that works with this format.
"Boots" is a poem by English author and poet Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936). It was first published in 1903, in his collection The Five Nations.
It is a very anxious poem.
It is also featured in the soundtrack of the recent Zombie Apocalypse film, "28 Years Later", by Director Danny Boyle.
