SideTracked Day 2025 - Thornton Abbey - 18th Anniversary
I have arranged the event to coincide with the first train of the day to arrive at Thornton Abbey Railway Station, which is the 10.35 arriving at Platform 2
(Just in case anyone wishes to arrive by train)
There is also a beck and a pond nearby, should anyone wish to arrive by boat
There is hardly any parking at the train station, so I am holding the event a short distance away, next to the entrance to Thornton Abbey
Here you will find there are picnic tables and plenty of parking
It is quite remote so sadly there are no toilets nearby
The closest ones are probably at Barton Upon Humber

There is also a Virtual Church Micro there
Thornton Abbey railway station was built in 1849
On Sundays (in the Summer) the station is served by four trains per day in each direction between Cleethorpes and Barton Upon Humber
No services call at the station on Sundays during the winter months

I may also be persuaded to bring cake

About SideTracked Caches & Events
The SideTracked series of geocaches
are fairly easy to find hides which can be found at or near train stations, ex-train stations or near Heritage railways
The first SideTracked geocache was placed at Evesham, about 50km south of Birmingham in the UK, on the 10th August, 2007
More information can be found at the
SideTracked Website
Update: There is a profile badge for those who attend this event (see below)
It will not automatically appear. Please see the log from the sidetracked group for instructions
