SideTracked Day 2025 - Barry - 18th Anniversary
Why not come celebrate the 18th Anniversary of the Sidetracked series of caches with a quick drink and a chat in Barry, Home of the former Woodhams scrapyard where a good majority of preserved steam locomotives currently in preservation were saved from being cut up back in the 70's and 80's. Now, the new TFW depot is located nearby using the sheds previously belonging to a heritage railway that unfortunetly no longer runs.
Venue is the Sir Samuel Romilly pub just around the corner from the main Barry station, one of four in the town, so easy access from Cardiff and the mainline into Wales if you are coming in by train, or the station has a large (and free!) car park if coming by car.
Venue is generally wheelchair accessible, but two of the three seating areas are down stairs and not sure which part we will be in, depending on how busy it is that evening! Please mention in a note or a will attend if we need to make sure we are seated in an accessible area.
About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
