Geocache Description:

Welcome to coppers marsh.

The Cooper Marsh Conservation Area is a 663-acre wetland on the north shore of Lake St. Francis. It was transformed from unsuitable cropland in the 1980s. The area is part of the larger Charlottenburgh Marsh, one of Ontario's most significant wetlands. The marsh was created through collaborative efforts by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA), Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) and other organizations.

The Raisin River Conservation Authority actively maintains, protects, and enhances the natural area, including infrastructure improvements like boardwalks and viewing towers.

Cooper Marsh does offer many opportunities for birdwatching, hiking, and learning about the natural environment through interpretive signage and the Visitors Centre.

This geocache is located near where you once parked, allowing you to walk to the viewing platform. They have also started adding a boardwalk.

Congratulations to Nancy and Alpha on your first to find.
