This is the fifth cache of the Hughlett Point Trail Series. Total hike is about 2-3 miles. Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve is open to the public from sunrise to sunset. The site includes hiking-only trails, wildlife viewing platforms, a woodland boardwalk, and informative signs. Please stay on designated trails and minimize your impacts to the environment. All caches are along trail and do not require bushwacking. The preserve includes a small car parking area. If the parking area is full, the preserve is full. Vehicles parked on Balls Neck Road are subject to ticketing or towing. A great place to view the natural wonders of nature including: eagles, deer, snakes, and other waterfowl. Can walk on the beach, trails through the woods, but terrain is flat and easy. I recommend going during a lower tide. Watch out for crabs & muggles! May be increased muggles during certain times. If possible, cache at least busy times. Bring your own writing utensil. Here is a preserve guide factsheet (PDF) and map provided from here.
