Woodland Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Des Moines and has been owned by the city of Des Moines since 1857. There are over 400,000 burials here in 65 acres. Many notable historic figures from Des Moines history are buried in this sprawling and beautiful cemetery.
The coordinates to this geocache will be granted after completing the Adventure Lab "Don't Blink in Woodland Cemetery," a sequential order spooky story that combines the real history of the cemetery with some Doctor Who fanlore. You will need the Adventure Lab app to do that adventure.
As with any cemetery geocache, this one comes with a few rules: Do not cache at night, be respectful of the markers and mourners, don't cache if a funeral is proceeding and follow all posted rules.
