Another QEM (Quick Easy Multi) that is designed in the same spirit that BD1982 and JBCashew originally created. QEMs are NOT meant for those of you who like long walks in the woods... Rather, they are meant for those of you working on a daily or a multi-a-day challenge - or somebody passing through who just wants to make a quick find.
The posted coordinates for this first stage will bring you to a city/town boundary stone that is in an unusual location. Every so often, by Massachusetts law, cities and towns are required to send their Select Board or Council members to "perambulate the bounds". This process involves visiting the various boundary markers around the town's jurisdiction, checking to make sure the markers are intact and marking the year of the visit. Some towns do this a little better than others do... At this particular marker, you will note that Berlin (the "B" side) hasn't done a particularly good job. Marlborough, on the other hand, has been fastidious in their efforts to ensure that the "M" side is kept current.
