Az első világháború áldozatainak emlékére állították, 1927. június 27-én, Horthy Miklós jelenlétében avatták fel a Hősök terén. 10 méter magas kőemlékmű Lányi Dezső szobrászművész alkotása. Az obeliszk tetején négy sas által szegélyezett urna látható. Talapzatán az oroszlán a magyar koronát és címert védelmezi. A homlokzati reliefen gyászoló férfiakt térdepel.

It was put up in Heroes' Square to the memory of those killed in World War I, in 1926. The 10 m high stone memorial is the work of the sculptor Dezső Lányi (1879-1961). On the top of the obelisk there we find an urn surrounded by four eagles. On the fundament there is a lion protecting the Hungarian Crown and Shield. On the frontage we can see a mourning male figure on his knees.
On the back of the monument, find the following family names, the sum of the characters of whose first names will give X.
