The community of Colver was founded in 1911 by the Ebensburg Coal Company. The town got its name from the owners of the coal company, B. Dawson Coleman & John Heisly Weaver, using the first 3 letters of Coleman and last 3 letters of Weaver. At its boom Colver wass estimated to have a population of nearly 4,000 residents in the late 1930's. Today the population is around 450. It should be noted that Coleman & Weaver also started the nearby town of Revloc & owned the Cambria and Indiana Railroad (C&I). Have Fun!
