Kupiškio marių „vandens bosas“ – tai specialus vandens reguliavimo įrenginys, esantis prie marių užtvankos, kurio pagalba kontroliuojamas vandens lygis mariuose. Per šį techninį objektą vanduo subėga iš Kupiškio marių ir toliau keliauja į Lėvens upę. „Vandens bosas“ dažnai vadinamas betonine šachta ar pralaida, kuri leidžia palaikyti tinkamą vandens balansą, apsaugo nuo potvynių bei neleidžia marioms pernelyg išsilieti. Šis įrenginys yra netoli Aukštupėnų poilsiavietės, šalia pėsčiųjų tako ir pontoninio tilto į Uošvės liežuvio salą. Nors „vandens bosas“ yra svarbi Kupiškio marių hidrotechninė dalis, prie jo artintis tiesiogiai nerekomenduojama dėl pavojingų vandens srovių ir inžinerinių konstrukcijų. Tai vieta, kurioje technika ir gamta susijungia reguliuojant vandens tėkmę ir palaikant marių ekologinę pusiausvyrą.
The Kupiškis Lagoon “water boss” is a special water regulation device located at the lagoon dam, which controls the water level in the lagoon. Through this technical facility, water flows from the Kupiškis Lagoon and continues to the Lėven River. The “water boss” is often called a concrete shaft or culvert, which allows maintaining the proper water balance, protects against floods and prevents the lagoon from overflowing excessively. This device is located near the Aukštupėnai recreation area, next to the pedestrian path and pontoon bridge to the Uošvės Lieževis Island. Although the “water boss” is an important hydrotechnical part of the Kupiškis Lagoon, it is not recommended to approach it directly due to dangerous water currents and engineering structures. This is a place where technology and nature come together to regulate the flow of water and maintain the ecological balance of the lagoon.
