Geocache Description:

Shannon's Hollow-day Inn - TB Hotel

Shannon Falls is one of BC’s most stunning waterfalls— a powerful force tumbling over 330 meters down granite cliffs. It’s a popular spot for visitors drawn by the roar of the falls and the beauty of the surrounding Chief Provincial Park.

Trackables have always been one of my favourite parts of geocaching. I love following their journeys and sending them off on new adventures. So, I wanted to create a special little spot close to home where they could rest and recharge. There is enough room for small-sized trackables and swag.

This cache itself is tucked away in a quiet part of the park. Hidden near an old hollow stump, the container is nestled in a small hollow at ground level. A piece of 'geo-wood' is at GZ, making the find a lot easier. Without it, the difficulty will spike quite a bit, so please replace as found. You’ll notice the top is camouflaged with real moss to help it blend naturally with its surroundings. There are plenty of other hollow stumps nearby, so take your time looking— you might need to reach into a dark space or feel around carefully to find it. Be careful of critters!

The area can be a bit damp, so please wear appropriate shoes and watch your footing, and be mindful of the roots and mossy patches underfoot. Getting to GZ will not require you to trample any vegetation.

Please help trackables continue their journeys by logging and moving them along if you can. Check their goals and see if you can help the TB do it! And, if the cache looks like it’s lost its cover, adding some back would be much appreciated.

I hope this little lodge feels like a cozy pit stop for both you and your trackables. And, enjoy the views of the falls!

Access Info:
Easily accessible from the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Shannon Falls Provincial Park is a popular stop for travelers heading between Vancouver and Whistler, but can be approached from either direction. The parking lot will very likely be packed at peak times, so plan accordingly.

There are two ways to get to GZ, both shown in the waypoints.  Entry #1 is a bit steep, but should still be easy for the majority of people. Entry #2 is a bit longer of a way to go, but will skip all of the forested incline and instead will be a gradual walk up a paved path and then some through some grass before approaching GZ. Whichever way you decide to go, the walk is no more than 5 minutes from the parking lot.
